Meet The Doctors
Dr. Scott Alexander and Dr. Mary Hoffman are both second-generation dentists and both are board-certified by the American Board of Orthodontics, a distinction earned by only a portion of orthodontists. They believe in conservative treatment planning and in giving patients thoughtful options, because they know orthodontic care is never one-size-fits-all. They are committed to treating every patient like family, with close attention to detail at every stage of treatment. Unlike many orthodontic offices, patients see a doctor at every appointment, helping ensure personalized care, clear communication, and consistent results throughout braces or Invisalign treatment.
Dr. Scott Alexander
Dr. Alexander is a member of the American Dental Association, American Association of Orthodontists, and is a diplomat of the American Board of Orthodontics.
He teaches new dentists at the local residency in Advanced General Dentistry and helps to lead a study group for local dentists. He also serves as the Treasurer for the Idaho State Dental Association.

All orthodontists are dentists, but not all dentists are orthodontists. In fact, only about six out of a hundred dentists have the proper training to be "orthodontists".
As a specialist in orthodontics, unlike general dentists who provide orthodontic care, Dr. Alexander and Dr. Hoffman are focused only on your orthodontic needs and have completed the residencies necessary to be licensed Orthodontists.
The American Association of Orthodontists recommends an orthodontic screening at age seven. Don’t worry! Most kids do not need any orthodontic treatment at this age. However, seeing an orthodontic specialist at this age can help to catch any developing growth or tooth eruption issues.
